Morocco: Violation of trade union freedoms in the Ozone Company

The Ozone Environment & Services’ workers in Fes organized a protest march on Saturday under the leadership of the National Syndicate of Local Communities and Responsible Management of the Confederation of Democratic Labour. They were protesting against the flagrant violation of their basic social and trade union rights as well as the violation of laws and customs.

"The situation is worsening, as the workers are suffering from the violation of their rights and gains. Moreover, the trade unionists condemn the ‘rotten’ measures and policies taken by the company’s administration against them and their representatives in the House of Advisors," confirmed Mohammed al-Mors, a member of the Executive Office of the Confederation and the General Secretary of the National Union of Local Communities and Responsible Management, according to the Democratiaomalia website of the Confederation of Democratic Labour.

He described the company's measures as irresponsible and said their policies are "influenced by a narrow and outdated political background." He also stressed that confronting the company's management, which does not respect the workers’ most basic rights as stipulated in the Labour Code, is "open to all options and forms of struggle”.
