The General Federation of Jordanian Trade Unions (GFJTU) chairman Mazen Al Maaytah, said that the amendments of the Social Security Law “ need further dialogue and consultation”.
He held a meeting, last Sunday, with the representatives of the International Labour Organization, with the presence of the international expert and social security adviser, Dr. Luca Peleriano, to discuss the amendments of the Social Security Law.
Al Maaytah added that another meeting is expected to take place, on Tuesday, with the presence of the international expert, including the chairman and members of the parliamentary working committee to further expand the dialogue regarding these amendments. Moreover, he pointed out that this meeting will take place, in line with the trade union’s efforts to discuss the amendments, in order to take advantage of the global experience in this area, as well as the international standards.
