Algerian Trade Union Confederation decided to boycott the Ministry of Work’s invitation to a national union’s meeting. The Confederation stressed its “loyalty to the people’s reject of the current government and will not collaborate with it or recognize it until a new national unity government is formed.”
The Confederation issued a statement in which it confirmed its involvement and its support to the peaceful popular movement and its attachment to the popular demands of evicting the current illegitimate government. The Union said that the present circumstances pushed it to bear historical responsibilities and do its part in resolving the current political crisis by unifying the different unions and enlarging the consensus to the civil society’s components; which actually happened during the national congress on June 15th 2019 leading to an important opening up between the civil society and different political parties, unions, associations, organizations, etc.
