Morocco: Local community’s workers in Casablanca ask for their overtime payment

The trade union bureau of Casablanca and its districts’ local community’s workers and agents, affiliated to the Moroccan Workers Union (UMT), asked the president of the local community for the overtime payment for all public servants working in different public administrations. The bureau also stressed all other trade union offices affiliated to the UMT to get together in order to defend any legitimate demand.

The bureau based its demand on the ministerial decree number 1190.03 published on January 25th 2003; and on the memento number 4805/2019 which aims to complete overtime forms for workers who did overtime from July 1st 2018 to June 2019.

It is noteworthy that Casablanca’s local collectivity went through a crisis with its workers when it tried to deprive them from their indemnities for working in aggressive polluted conditions. The different trade union bureaus called for an open-ended strike that lead to the intervention of the central administration of the Ministry of Interior who made the local community disburse the allowances for all the workers without any discrimination.
