Aqaba Thermal Power Plant witness high tension among its employees as the board intends to dismiss more than 200 employees because of the retirement of units. This irritated the employees and provoked their rage as their livelihood became threatened.
The trade union party asked the official authorities to enforce the board to put an end to such threats made against their employees whom help maintaining the stability of the electricity system in Jordan, referring that such kind of threats will dramatically affect the firm.
It is noteworthy to mention that the Jordanian government owns 49% of shares in the electricity generation company.
