The Egyptian Parliament rejected to apply the regular bonus to both public companies and business sectors

During the general assembly held last Monday, the Egyptian Parliament rejected the proposal, seeking to apply the regular bonus act within both public companies and business sectors – to be the same as the civil servants.

The Parliament rejected the proposal before the final voting on the draft bill regarding the regular bonus for those whom addressed by the Civil Service Act and those who aren’t addressed by it.

The chairperson of Parliament noted that these companies are business bodies, that may gain or lose, and they distribute profits to the employees.

Moreover, government spokesman said that the employees in government sector either concerned or not with the provisions mentioned in Civil Service Act, shall get only the regular and special bonus on July 1st annually. As for those who work in business sector, they shall get 7% as a regular annual bonus, as mentioned in Act 203, and they shall get incentives, rewards and benefits. There are losing companies; however, some give their employees some profits considering the social prospect.
