On Saturday morning, the Jordanian workers, working in the wheat silos project, where surprised by their layoff and prevention from entering their workplace by the security forces and their replacement by other workers with Arab nationalities.
According to Sarayanews website, quoting testimonies of protesting workers, the workers had been arbitrarily suspended from work when they arrived, as they were surprised by their prevention from entering the workplace by the security forces.
The workers affirmed that they have been working with contracts, for more than 6 months in the project (10 workers from the same governorate), pointing out that they are from the governorate of Mafraq, which suffers from high unemployment rates. They expressed that their arbitrarily dismissal contributed to the impoverishment of their families and that they will continue their escalations, in case of the continuation of this decision.
