According to the American new agency, Bloomberg, The Qatar-based Media Group (beIN SPORTS) has dismissed nearly a fifth of its employees in Qatar, following the heavy market losses and a significant decline in its revenues.
The agency reported that the company dismissed about 300 employees in Qatar, i.e. about 18% of the local workforce, pointing out that this figure has not been publicly announced.
The company stated in a statement that it had taken some "tough decisions to regain our loss", citing that the reason behind it is the piracy operations backed by the Saudi Arabia, as claimed by the Qatari group.
A French court has settled a legal battle for Arab Satellite Communications Organization, Arabsat, against the Qatar-based Media Group (beIN SPORTS), which accused it of piracy.
