The Palestinian Liberation Movement (Fatah) announced a general strike on the 25th of June in the Palestinian.
The strike denounces the upcoming workshop in Manama, the Bahraini capital, on the 25th and 26th of this month, called by Washington, which will discuss the economic aspects of the "Deal of The Century," according to the American media.
In a press statement, Jamal Mahisen, a member of the Fatah Central Committee, announced that all the national forces will participate in the events on the 24th of this month, before the Manama conference, while on the 25th day a comprehensive strike will take place. He added "these events deliver the message of the Palestinian people to the occupation and the world and that the meeting in Manama is a shame, betrayal and stab in the back of our people … and that the time has come to join the Arab efforts to end the occupation."
In a joint statement, the United States and Bahrain announced the holding of an economic workshop in Manama on June 25-26 to discuss the ways to attract the investment to the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, in case a peace agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis is reached.
The Palestinian leadership and factions reject that workshop, as it is part of the "Deal of The Century", which is a planned American peace plan, that will force the Palestinians to make unfair concessions in favour of Israel, especially regarding Al-Quds and the refugees’ right of return.
