Starting from today in Morocco: expected escalation by educational unions during the examinations

The five educational unions in Morocco called on the teachers of the sector to carry the black badge, starting from Saturday and during the national examinations, to protest against the government and the Ministry of Education for not meeting the teachers’ professional and social demands.

The National Association for Education (CDT), the Private Federation of Education (UGTM), the National Syndicate of Education (FDT), the National Federation of Education (UMT) and the National Federation of Education (FNE) called on the government and the Ministry of Education to resolve this issue.

The unions explained in a communiqué that "the government and the Ministry of National Education continue to violate and attack the teachers’ rights through the illegal cuts in the protestors’ salaries, as well as through the threatening and intimidating of workers. Moreover, the government and the Ministry of National Education continue to restrict the trade union rights, and the right to negotiate".
