According to “Al-Chaab” newspaper, the Tunisian Prime Minister's Office Syndicate postponed the strike scheduled for the 29th and 30th May 2019 to a later date, following an agreement signed last Thursday with the representatives of the administrative structures of the prime minister.
The general secretary of the union, Ayman Al-Dimassi, announced that the agreement stipulates the equality and balance of the three presidencies (i.e. head of government, President of Parliament and President of the Republic) and the disbursement of the supervision and coordination grant starting from next month, while the remaining points will be reviewed, starting from next week.
It is noteworthy that the Prime Minister's deputies and ministers launched a strike on May 7, 2019 to ask for the implementation of the minutes of the previous meetings with the Prime Minister’s administrative structures and the balance and equality between the three presidencies, in respect of the coordination and supervision grant.
They also called for the respect for the trade union right and the establishment of a basic system for the prime minister's deputies and workers, who are not subject to other basic regulations. Moreover, they called for the adoption of transparency in the appointment of workers, under clear standards, the adoption of a workers’ code and the opening of recruitment plans.
