Morocco: The collective system for granting pensions is unfair and unjust

The National Front for the Reform of the Collective System for the Granting of Pensions of the Moroccan Workers’ Union organized a protest, last Thursday against the Depositary and Management Fund headquarters with the participation of the users of public institutions involved in the collective system for granting pensions.

The protesters denounced the "injustice they suffer from this system," describing it as "unfair and insufficient because of the poor pensions."

The users stressed that they were discriminated with the presence of two different pension schemes (CMR) and (RCAR). "Despite running the same public service, RCAR members receive poor pensions that prevent them from having a decent living”, according to the union’s statement.

He added that this group "suffer from miserable social conditions, in a state of frustration that affected the general pensioners and their families “denouncing "the indifference of the government, while facing the demands of those involved in the collective system to grant pensions”.

The union called upon the government and all the relevant parties to redress the pensioners and lift the gap on this wide range of users by removing the roofing of the authorized wage at RCAR; adopting the eight-year wage rate in the calculation of the collective pension scheme for the granting of pensions; as well as the optional extending in the retirement year from one to five years.
