Jordan: The protest of dozens of PhD holders

The Jordanian Labor Observatory reported that a number of unemployed PhD holders carried out a strike, in front of the Prime Minister's office to ask for their appointment in Jordanian universities.

In their protest vigil on Wednesday, the protestors called for the suspension of the appointment of masters’ holders at the expense of doctoral students, stressing that the law has to be implemented on the ground.

One of the participants in the strike burned his diploma, in protest against his non-appointment, noting that "the University of Jordan, where he obtained his doctorate requires teachers with a doctorate from foreign universities."
