The latest study by Bayt.com, the Middle East's largest job-seekers website, in collaboration with YouGov, the market research organization, revealed the employees’ perceptions regarding the payment and benefits.
The data of the Bayt.com survey on "Middle East and North Africa 2019" was collected online between March 21 and April 9, 2019, with the participation of 3 788 people from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Sudan and others.
According to the survey, about half of employees (49%) expect to receive an increase in salary during 2019, with 31% expecting an increase of up to 5% of their current salary.
In terms of salary, 19% of the respondents in Jordan stated that their current salary package consists of a basic salary with privileges, while 60% said that it is limited to basic salary only. 19% said they receive basic salary plus commission and benefits.
For the preferred wage structure, 64% of the respondents in the kingdom said they prefer the fixed wage structure at 100%, while 24% said they prefer the fixed wage structure in part with variable commissions and incentives, while 12% prefer a variable wage structure at 100%.
Among the several benefits enjoyed by the employees are personal health insurance (33%), transport allowance (17%), remuneration (14%) and family health insurance (17%).
