The Ministry of Labour and Social Development of Bahrain confirmed that the labour market in Bahrain is witnessing a significant positive development. In fact, the National Employment Program, which has started on February 25, has registered the joining of more than 2 000 citizens.
This program succeeded in attracting more than 2 300 citizens, while the total number of entrants from the two segments reached about 4300 newly unemployed in the ministry lists.
According to media sources, the initiatives of the National Employment Program increased the daily employment rate of Bahrainis by 30%, during the past period. In fact, the total number of Bahrainis, who have been appointed since the launching of the program reached 3307.
In addition, through its increasing in the work permit fees for flexible employment and the parallel system, the National Employment Program initiative stands in favour of the national employment and increased the flow of vacancies by 35%, as well as, the receipt of approximately 4 000 vacancies, since the launching of the program.
The improvement of employment led to the stabilization of the unemployment rate at 4.6% for the first quarter of this year.
