The Tunisian government officials strike in protest against the non-adherence to the commitments

Yesterday, the Tunisian government officials launched a strike in protest against the administrations’ non-adherence to its pledges and commitments.

Ayman Al-Dimasi, the general secretary of the government officials’ union, stated in a statement to "Al-Chaab” newspaper that the conciliation session, which was held on Tuesday in the headquarters of the governorate of Tunis with the administrative structures of the cabinet was a failure. In fact, during this session the administrative party suggested a proposal that does not meet with the ambitions and expectations of workers, regarding the equality of the three authorities, in respect of the coordination and supervision grant.

The protesters ask also for the respect for the trade union rights, the establishment of a basic system for the government officials and workers, the transparency in the appointment of workers, following clear standards, the creation of a workers’ classification list and the opening of new horizons for future recruitments.
