The Jordan Valley workers have continued their protests since April 10th to protest against the administration and government's disregard of their chronic demands.
The protesters are asking for the reuse of the savings fund system, with an increase in the overtime allowance, social security benefits, end-of-service compensation and an increase in water utilities from 30 percent to 60 percent.
They are also asking for a risk allowance for the workers, who are exposed to epidemics, and accidents because of the nature of the work and the payment of a premium including the travel and outfit allowances and its inclusion with the end of service benefits in the social security.
The employees stressed that the remunerations should be based on clear transparent new rules and regulations to be distributed fairly to all, and avoid favouritism, as well as the need to approve the establishment of a new Jordan Valley housing association for workers, through the allocation of housing units to the employees and the payment of the third and fourteenth salary.
