On Monday, a number of Jordanian workers launched a strike, in front of a building of a Chinese company working in the oil shale sector in Al-Atarat area in protest against their arbitrary dismissal.
According to the Jordanian Labor Observatory, quoting testimonies from the protesting workers, the workers were shocked, when they were informed that they got fired by the administration, without the legal 1-month warning and for no reason.
It is noteworthy that the number of Jordanian workers in the company does not exceed 24 Jordanian workers, while the number of Chinese workers exceeds 3 000 workers.
