Yesterday, Sudan witnessed a general strike called by the Sudanese professionals’ gathering that included all the public and private sector companies.
The strike included also the health sector, lawyers, judges, prosecutors, engineers, farmers, veterinarians, animal production sectors, teachers, university professors and public complexes, as well as workers and employees from the private and public sectors.
The Sudanese professionals’ gathering stressed in its statement that the confrontation with the regime is unconventional, as it is using power (militias) to remain in power. " Despite all, it is falling today thanks to the peaceful movements that have proven their superiority, strength and steadfastness against the nozzles of guns, tear gas and torture machines, in the regime cells. "
The Sudanese professionals’ gathering praised in its statement "every soldier and officer in the armed forces, who proved their neutrality and patriotism to protect the revolutionaries during the epic confrontations on the sixth of April."
The Sudanese professionals stressed the continuation of their peaceful struggle against the regime and the continuation of the professional trade union struggle until the handover of power to a transitional government, as agreed in the Declaration of Freedom and Change, which was agreed by the masses of the rebellious Sudanese people. Moreover, they called on the masses of the Sudanese people to continue to protest and strike until the overthrown of the system.
