Yesterday (March 14th), at the EU headquarters in Brussels, the final conference to promote the community of practise of the SOLID program took place, where the project partners signed the SOLID Charter to promote social dialogue between the employers, workers and civil society in the southern Mediterranean countries including Jordan, Tunisia and Morocco, with the presence of the government representatives of these countries, in coordination with the Arab Trade Union Confederation.
This high-level meeting brought together a number of popular people, political figures, employers, civil society organizations and international organizations from both sides of the Mediterranean to shed lights on the most important outputs of the project over the past three years and to adopt a project charter on promoting social dialogue in the southern Mediterranean.
The Social Dialogue Project is the only one in the European Union and the Southern Mediterranean region to promote social dialogue in the countries of the South Mediterranean, in which the Mediterranean Union of Customs Organizations participated with the Directorate General of the European Neighbourhood Policy Negotiations and the Economic and Social European Committee.
