The formation of administrative committees is in contradiction with the law of the trade union organizations

The Committee for the Defence of the Trade Union Freedoms stated that the publication issued by the Ministry of Manpower on the formation of general unions affiliated to the Egyptian Workers' Union for administrative committees contradicts the Trade Union Organizations and Protection of the Right to Organize Law No. 213 of 2017,

The committee stressed at its last meeting that this publication will have repercussions and impact on the committees of trade unions, which have addressed their situation and did not hold elections. It is expected that these committees will hold general assemblies to select a board of directors for the trade union committee, which can be attended by the labour directorates to extract the necessary letters to start practicing their trade union functions.

On the other hand, the committee will send a memorandum to various ministries during this week to explain the situation of the unions in details, whether they have succeeded in holding their elections or those that have not been able to adjust their situation due to the intransigence of the Ministry of Manpower.
