Dozens of sand trucks owners and workers, who has become locally known as the "The axes and shovel workers ", from Ajlmus, which belongs to the territory of Khenifra, gathered in a march towards the headquarters of the Khenifra province, last Monday, to ask for the lifting of their suffering due to the injustice of the local authority.
The workers and sand transport trucks’ owners expressed their anger regarding the lack of work permits, rejecting the authorities’ disregard policy regarding their demands, and pointed out that this protest comes following several vigils and dialogue sessions with the mayor, which were in vain. In fact, this contributed to their unemployment and the impoverishment of hundreds of their families.
The security forces objected the workers’ vigil and prevented them from going to the headquarters of the Khenifra province, which led the protesters to stay by their trucks at night, until the meeting of their demands, threatening of escalation by organizing strikes and protests towards the capital, Rabat.
