The workers in the youth and sports sector held a protest on Monday in front of the headquarters of the Youth and Sports Directorate in the province of Kasserine, following the federation’s sector call.
The demonstrators raised banners and slogans condemning the disregard of the suspended professional and social demands, including the follow-up of the governmental order concerning the grant of management for youth, sports and physical education for the benefit of the administrators and workers of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which was referred to the prime minister in 2016. Moreover, they asked for the issuance of the governmental order concerning the establishment of the joint administrative sector for youth, sports and children, agreed upon with the supervisory authority with all the texts, including the leasing system assigned to the interests of the Prime Minister in 2014.
They asked also for the acceleration in the settlement of the professional status of the owners of rural clubs by issuing a government order complementary to the government order issued last year, and the integration of the production grant in the monthly salary for the administrative staff, including workers and animators.
A second protest is expected to take place on February 18 in case of the non-meeting of their legitimate demands.
