The workers at the Cevital Food Industries Complex have been in an open-ended strike since January 16, in front of the headquarters of the province of Béjaïa to ask for their reintegration into the institution.
The workers protested, following the institution's current administration’s abandoning of a previous commitment made in 2013 to integrate them, but the administration denied and even arbitrarily dismissed a number of workers.
The protest movement of the dismissed Cevital workers was supported by the “the unemployed people from the south".
