The Council of Ministers, confirmed at its second session held on January 15, to change the wage system into a contract system (except for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and to reaffirm the coverage of daily wage workers by the Labour Law No. 37 of 2015, as well as, to limit their working hours to a maximum of 40 hours and to determine the minimum wage, as defined by law.
According to unionist sources, the workers will be covered by the Workers' Social Security Law No. 39 of 1971 and the service of contracts and wages will be fully paid for the promotion and retirement and the deduction of 5% of the social security contributions from each worker, starting from January 1st, 2019. The Ministry of Finance will pay the contribution of 12% to the Labour Pension Fund of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.
