The National Authority of the Tunisian General Labour Union, the second decision authority in the labour organization, decided to strike a new general strike on February 20 and 21 in the public sector companies and in the public service sector.
The administrative body met on Saturday asking for a significant increase in the salaries of employees of the public service sector and the reform of companies and public enterprises and to accelerate in the revision of the Public Enterprises Law.
It is noteworthy that hundreds of thousands of public workers carried out a general strike on January 17 after the Tunisian government’s insistence on the tax credit as an alternative to the increase in wages and adherence to periods of enforcement that were not accepted by the union as they consider that the proposals do not meet the workers’ ambitions and expectations in the public sector.
Moreover, we were informed that the union will file a case against the government tomorrow on the decision of illegal exploitation.
