According to the Jordanian Strategy Forum, expatriate Jordanians make up 10.5%

The Jordanian Strategy Forum confirmed in a report that the Jordanian expatriates constitute about 10.5% of Jordanians, as economic migrants, with a total of 786 000 expatriates.

According to a study by the Gallup International Institute, about 19 percent of Jordanians, 27 percent of young people and 29 percent of education professionals want to migrate "permanently" if they have the opportunity.

According to the Jordanian Strategies Forum report, the remittances of the Jordanians contribute about 8.3% of GDP.

As asylum is classified as "forced migration," Jordan is one of the top 10 countries in the world hosting refugees, along with Turkey, Lebanon, Uganda, Iran, the Congo, Kenya, Ethiopia, Germany and Pakistan, according to the UN agency.

According to the International Migration Report of 2018 issued by the UN agency for immigration, the Syrian refugees occupy the largest proportion of refugees in Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon.

Jordan hosts also about 2.2 million Palestinian refugees according to UNRWA figures. Moreover, the number of expatriates in Jordan is estimated at 330 000 workers by the beginning of December 2018; 54% of them are Egyptians, while Syrians constitute about 11%, according to the Ministry of Labour figures.
