Egypt / Kafr El Dawar: The workers of the textile factory call for help

The workers of the textile and dye factory in “Al-Bayda Center” in “Kafr El-Dawar” in “Beheira” asked the state officials, the holding company and the Public Funds Department, to investigate the factory's management regarding a number of violations.

The workers stressed in media statements that some people misspend a lot of the company's money in the wrong place, which affected the disbursement of their dues on time, as well as, the non-disbursement of their profits, pointing to their commitments to the banks and the delay in the instalments’ payment, which led to the workers paying late fees.

Dozens of workers from factories 1, 2 and 3, and the garments and maintenance section, entered an open strike, at the end of last December. They raided the factory and its entrances, in protest against the delayed payment of wages of last month and the non-receipt of their annual bonus, which is estimated at two months and disbursed by the end of the year with the Christmas celebrations. Moreover, they asked for the acceleration to get their dues so as not to escalate and dismantle the strike, and to complete their work within the company, which is one of the oldest companies in the Middle East.

The workers also confirmed the continuation of their strike inside the company until the payment of their dues.
