The Secretary General of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions, Mr. Hassan Hilwaji, conveyed to the workers 'union the assurances received from the Minister of Labour that all workers' rights and benefits will be safeguarded after their transfer to a development company and that there will be no expulsion for any workers even for those who have not signed yet and or workers who still oppose the idea of transfer.
Al-Hilwaji stressed that most of the unions demanded has been met, and only some issues are still under review for the protection of workers' rights, including the three main issues of savings and ownership, housing and scholarships, which will be dealt with in a manner that does not violate any right or gain for any worker, in addition to other benefits such as health insurance and others.
The Secretary-General added that, in addition to the assurances on rights and benefits, there was also an assurance that the situation of those who have not received yet will be addressed soon as well.
