The second organizational conference of the General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions was launched yesterday under the slogan " The trade union movement and sustainable development", which runs until 31 December at a hotel in the capital.
The Secretary-General of the Union, Hassan Hilwaji, confirmed in media statements that the holding of this conference comes in light of the novelties affecting the working class, both on the economic and social level, in addition to their implications on the labour market, the purchasing power and standard of living.
He added that this conference is considered as a prelude to the general conference of the union which will be held in March 2020. The conference will discuss a number of topics related to the union work and the membership of the union with internal and external relations, as well as its local and international centres, in addition to the administrative boards of the basic trade unions.
