Some labour leaders in the private sector in Egypt said that the Labour Law submitted by the Parliament's labour force to the plenary session for definitive vote violated the constitutional provisions in some articles and contradicted each other's articles, asserting that it violates the rights of workers in favour of businessmen.
The private sector leader, Shaaban Khalifa, pointed out that the draft law does not guarantee the minimum job security in article 69 and article 129 of the draft new Labour Law, as well as the importation of employees in articles 44 and 55.
The observers consider that the law closed the door of negotiations between workers and employers in paragraph 19, which defines the labour negotiator as: “the workers choose a delegate as the labour negotiator, in light of an official document with official authorization of the official tax office, which leads to the impossibility of negotiation because of the difficulty for the workers to pay the fees and the disruption of work and production because of the need to go to the tax office to do the commissioning.
