The Democratic Confederation of Labour announced, after its executive office meeting on Monday, that it has organized a motor vehicle protest, on January 11th, 2019, to the city of Tangier, in protest against the systematic restrictions on the trade union freedoms and the fight against trade unionism.
The confederation affirmed that the social situation in Morocco is severe and characterized by the disruption of the tripartite collective bargaining institution and the absence of the government’s political will to establish a responsible, productive and equitable social dialogue for all workers.
It considered also that the government insists on continuing the implementation of the non- popular and non-democratic public policies with a savage neoliberal background aimed at hitting the purchasing power of all citizens and the elimination of the social gains as it is clearly reflected in the Financial Law of 2019; confirming its support for the national strike called by the National Union of Territorial Communities, on 26-27 December.
