The “Haqq” coalition in Jordan calls for the exemption of workers born to a Jordanian mother from the work permit

In its statement, the Haqq coalition called for amending Article 12 of the Temporary Labour Law of 2010, so that Jordanians would be exempted from the compulsory obtaining of a work permit.

The coalition proposed adding Article D to Article 12 in the following text: "The provisions of paragraphs A, B and C shall not be implemented on the workers born to non-Jordanian father and a Jordanian mother." It valued the constructive dialogue that took place this year with the Ministry of Labour and the Parliamentary Labour and Social Development Committee regarding the Temporary Labour Code of 2010, which resulted in the adoption of most of the recommendations of the coalition in terms of flexible work and fair wages, and the provision of nurseries and parental leave.

It is noteworthy that the Haqq coalition is formed by a group of civil society organizations, trade unions and the National Committee for Women's Affairs this year.
