“Al-Miloudi Mkharaq”, the Secretary-General of the Moroccan Workers’ Union, confirmed that the retreat from the boycott of social dialogue depends on the government’s decision to make a serious offer to compensate the working class for the damage done at the level of the purchasing power during the recent years.
He stressed in a media statement that the negotiations should not be confined to the public sector only. In fact, the private sector is concerned about the dialogue, considering that its employees are affected, pointing out that a formula should be established in order to ensure a general increase for the various workers in both public and private sectors, as well as the public institutions which is not less than 500 dirhams without being divided into parts.
He also stressed the need to establish an increase in the minimum wage in the industrial and agricultural sectors ranging from 10 to 15 percent of the current wage, regarding the government offer on the poor families’ compensation, and suggested a grant of 200 dirhams for each child rather than limited to only three children.
