Morocco: The syndicate of station and dam monitors condemns the fake allegations of the ministry and asks for the payment of wages

The National Union of Hydrological Stations Observers, Dams and Water Users condemned the position of the concerned government authorities and its ignoration of dialogue. It expressed its protest against the suspension of the dialogue sessions held by the former state official of the water services, which was held with the absence of the social parties, noting that these meetings resulted in a draft social charter that would be a just, fair and satisfactory solution for all the parties ".

The National Union denounced in a communiqué the allegations issued by the ministry on Friday, November 30th, following the observers’ strike in front of the ministry's headquarters, stating that "After more than ten years of exploitation, oppression and deprivation of the workers’ minimum rights guaranteed by law, The Ministry of Equipment, Transport , Logistics and Water start to recognize that the observers of hydrological stations and dams were socially and professionally oppressed, and admit that they were without health, social coverage or insurance for accidents and that they didn’t even receive their minimum wage, along with other rights.

The union called on the ministry to accelerate in the payment of wages in accordance with the provisions of the laws, and to open a serious and responsible dialogue on the workers’ fair demands, calling the observers from all the regions to continue their mobilization and struggle until they all their demands are met in a fair way.
