The negotiations over wage increases continue to stagnate, after the withdrawal of the trade union centres from the recent round of negotiations, within the technical committee, in protest against the government’s offer on wage increases.
The trade unions confirm that the increase in wages should not be limited to only one category of workers, stressing that the amount of the increase should be improved for all the workers.
In previous meetings with the trade unions, the “Othmani” government had proposed an increase in the workers’ salaries by about $ 20 per month starting from next year, followed by a $ 10-increase in 2020 and $ 20 in 2021. This increase will be limited to only some groups of workers, whose salary is $ 520 per month, which was rejected by trade unions.
However, the social dialogue has stopped, in light of the parliament’s discussing of the draft budget of next year, which is supposed to include some of the agreed upon during the dialogue, before its implementation on the 1st of January. #negotiations #wages #Morocco #stagnate
