“Algérie Poste” company has witnessed a tense social situation recently because of the way in which the administration manages recruitment through the local work agencies, since the post office workers are still dependent on the agencies to get their payments, some of whom remain in this situation for nearly 3 years.
In this context, many postal workers, in a number of governorates, asked for the urgent intervention to appoint them in their workplaces and thus cancelling their temporary contracts, which would continue for many years without the final settling of their status.
According to many workers, quoting trade union sources, some postman workers receive only 8000 dinars per month from the agency, but they work full-time, spending 8 hours, in addition to the assignment of other tasks. Moreover, some other employees, who work as receptionist are also paid a monthly salary of no more than 15 000 Algerian dinars from the employment agencies, although that these workers perform all tasks, including the payments of customers and all the other financial transactions.
The workers of pre-employment contracts called for the intervention to appoint them as permanent workers and to put an end to their exploitation, especially since their situation remained as it is for many years, although many workers in this context were also surprised by being uninsured by the social security interests, despite the tasks entrusted to them and their financial and administrative work at the post offices in the country.
