The labour inspectors in Tunisia launched a strike on December 11 and 12, after the failure of the negotiations between the Ministry of Social Affairs and the union.
Trade union sources confirmed that the success rate of the strike ranged from 95% to 100% in most of the offices and the central administration. The sources pointed out that the union decided not to hold conciliatory meetings and not to accept individual disputes. Moreover, the union decided to cut with the Social Advancement and Ideal Worker Awards on May 1st, if the authorities continue their intransigence and continue to ignore the inspectors legitimate demands.
The inspectors ask the government to adhere to the commitments made by the supervisory authority since July 2014, i.e. since the enactment of the Basic Law of the job seekers and the management of labour disputes. In fact, they complain about the lack of an adequate structure that is compatible with their basic law, in addition to the requirements of establishing a body that requires the minimum means of work and protection for its members.
They also demand the establishment of a legal system for their own leasing as one of the state's supervisory networks, such as the public expenditure and finance monitors.
work of the expulsion monitoring committee, and in case of the non-obtaining of their rights, it will be difficult for them to properly do the job.
