"Taiz" province is witnessing the increasing in the phenomenon of crime and criminal acts, as well as, the attempts to assassinate and kidnap.
While this phenomenon is increasing more and more, in light of the silence and hesitation of the authorities, many protests took place calling for putting an end to this security breach that threatens citizens.
The employees of the judicial authority in “Taiz” joined the campaign of protests and strikes condemning the criminal acts and the security chaos witnessed by the province, announcing an open strike called by the Judicial Employees Union of the province against the repeated attacks on the headquarters of the judiciary and its employees in the governorate, according to the union’s statement.
The statement pointed out that the employees of the judiciary in “Taiz” decided to enter in a full strike, asking the director general of the “Taiz” police to provide the necessary security protection to all the courts in “Taiz”, and to quickly arrest the perpetrators involved in the attack on the headquarters of the courts in the province. The statement also accused him of bearing full responsibility for any shortening resulting in an attack by these armed gangs on the headquarters of the judiciary and its members in the province.
In the same context, the Club of Yemeni Judges called in a letter to the director general of the police in "Taiz" to provide the necessary security protection to all the headquarters of the courts and the prosecutors in the province, bearing him full responsibility of what is happening.
On the other hand, the university of “Taiz announced” on Monday evening the launch of a march condemning the assassination attempt against Dr. “Mohammed Al-Shuaibi”, the president of the university, which led to his serious injury and the martyrdom of his companion soldier “Mowafaq Al-Shamiri”.
On Tuesday, the university organized a massive march attended by academics, administrators and students, as well as many activists from the civil society in protest against the assassination attempt and to ask for the detention and trial of the perpetrators of the main attack, as the assassination of the university president is tantamount to the assassination of education in “Taiz”. It is also an attempt to undermine the top of the pyramid of the university, who was the key role in the normalization of the university life and thus the reviving of the entire province of “Taiz”.
It is noteworthy that this attack was preceded by the kidnapping of the director general of services and housing of the university and an armed threat to the secretary general of the university and the looting of his car.
The university of “Taiz” has announced a few days ago the launching of an open strike in all the faculties and universities, condemning the assassination attempt of the university president, Dr. “Mohammed Shuaibi” in “Wadi Al-Qadi” in “Taiz”.
