A number of workers in the educational sector complained about the delay in the payment of their incentives and annual bonuses, which are granted to about 10% of the total number of employees in each department.
They confirmed in media statements that their schools had already sent nomination forms for incentives before the summer vacation. However, they were not disbursed at the usual time within the months of September and October, which raised fears among teachers over their non-payment this year.
The workers asked the ministry to expedite the procedures of disbursement before the new fiscal year to ensure their entitlements.
It is noteworthy that the incentives and bonuses are subject to a number of criteria set in the Civil Service Law and its executive regulations, as well as, the rules and regulations for the granting of these functional benefits and the requirements for entitlement for the employees, who are subject to the law.
The law requires the applicant to submit in advance in the specified period for the bonuses, and that the requirements for entitlement are met with respect to the law. The passing of the remuneration is subject to the discretion of the competent authority and the need for an annual evaluation in the civil service program.
