The tension continues among the public health doctors in Morocco

Following the Independent Doctors Union’s call in Morocco, doctors from the public sector launched a strike on Monday, which will continue until Friday in various hospitals and medical centers, except for emergency and recovery departments.

The union said in a statement issued last Sunday that the last Wednesday of November will be the "public sector doctor day," to make doctors wear the black suits instead of the white ones.

The strike includes the doctors' boycott of periodic reports, records and statistics, with the exception of notification of compulsory diseases, administrative evidence, excluding birth and death certificates, and the boycott of administrative meetings.

It is noteworthy that the public sector doctors in Morocco protest against the Ministry of Health's disregard of their demands to improve their working conditions and financial situation.

This year witnessed several strikes in the health sector, which were attended by nurses and doctors, which resulted into the doctors’ submission of mass resignations in a number of Moroccan cities.
