Three workers died, while three others were injured when a zinc and lead mine collapsed in the village of “Wadi Shish” eastern of Jarada on Tuesday.
The Moroccan public prosecutor opened an investigation about the incident after that the rescue teams transported the three injured to the hospital and recovered the bodies of the victims from the rubble.
During last March, the Jarada area witnessed protests over the mine accidents that resulted in the death of many young people in the area, especially after the death of “Jadwan” and “Hussein Al-Daioui”, (30 and 23 years old), following a similar collapse.
These protests turned into social demands for the citizens, who expressed their discontent because of marginalization and lack of the basic services.
