Tunisia is the first Arab country to launch the National Council for Social Dialogue

The founding session of the National Council for Social Dialogue was held yesterday (November 27th, 2018), with the presence of the Tunisian Prime Minister, a number of ministers and heads of the three national organizations, the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), the Tunisian Confederation of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts Union, the Union of Agriculture and Fisheries and the International Labour Organization.

The National Council for Social Dialogue consists of 35 members representing the government, 35 members representing the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), 30 members representing the most representative employers 'organization in the non-agricultural sector and 5 representatives of the most representative employers' organization in the agricultural sector.

This Council represents a space for dialogue between the three parties of production. Tunisia is the first Arab and the second African country to adopt this project.
