Following the Minister of Higher Education’s request, the workers’ strike at the university of Benghazi, which started from Tuesday, was postponed to the end of December.
The university workers had launched a strike to ask for better living conditions by increasing their salaries and against the illegal suspension of their housing allowance, which was supposed to be added to the monthly salaries of the workers.
The university workers’ union had protested in a statement on the procrastination of the Committee of Higher Education in the House of Representatives, the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Education in the adoption of the list of salaries, which is stipulated in the Labor Code Article (38), just like the other state institutions.
