The lawyer, “Mohamed Salah Ajaj” said in a press statement that the Suez Prosecution decided to renew the detention of the trade union leader “Wajdi El Sayed”, a nurse at the Suez General Hospital for 15 days for investigations, as he was accused of joining an illegal group and spreading fake news.
“Ajaj” pointed out that the prosecution has not yet provided lawyers with access to the investigations, pointing out that they will resort to the Attorney General of the Suez Attorneys to enable them to access this case’s information.
It is noteworthy that the security forces arrested, last Sunday the nurse in the General Hospital and the member of the Nursing Syndicate, “Wajdi El Sayed”, following the complaint of the Nurse’s representatives, “Kawthar Mahmoud” lodged against “Wajdi” and nine others, from the syndicate in many provinces. The Suez Prosecution decided to detain him for 15 days on charges of «belonging to an illegal group and the spreading of its ideas.”
In fact, the security force has previously arrested the nurse and trade unionist "Saida Fayed" for the same reasons.
88 organizations, parties and public and political figures announced their full solidarity with the trade unionists and members of the Nursing Syndicate, following the arrests of several of them, recently, asking in a joint statement the Attorney General to immediately investigate the financial irregularities and the administrative corruption committed by “Kawthar Mahmoud” and its board of directors.
