The Jordanian website, “Al-Ghad”, revealed that about 120 people, who have recently retired from the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) are suffering because of the agency’s non-payment of their dues, months ago.
The UNRWA employees often depend on their salaries, and by the end of their service, they do not receive a pension, but a service bonus and a savings amount, which they have paid mainly from their salaries during their service. Thus, all their hopes, projects and future plans depend on this renumeration.
While UNRWA's administration has not disclosed any date for its retirees to receive their entitlements, this group's hopes of exploiting those receivables into small projects are still ambiguous.
