Demands to improve the living conditions of the Jordanian Electricity Company workers

The General Union of Electricity Workers asked the management of the Jordanian Electricity Company to provide the employees of the company with a monthly increase of the basic salary of 50 dinars and another 50 dinars for the cost of living.

According to the Petra news agency, quoting the head of the union “Ali Hadid”, the union called on the company’s management to improve the workers’ living conditions to ensure their stability of living, preserve their working relations and boost productivity.

The electricity company employees ask for the granting all the employees the end of service remuneration, one month salary for each service year and 5 months, just like all the other companies. Moreover, they asked for the raise in the contribution of the company in the solidarity fund “Takaful” to 30 dinars instead of 15 and the reduction of the age from 60 years to 55 for men and from 55 to 50 years for women and to refund the amounts paid to the worker who submitted an "acceptable" resignation.

They also called for the cancellation of the subcontracting contract of the meter companies, the assignment of all workers to the Jordan Electricity Company, the granting of privileges to the employees of the company, and the granting of workers, who have become permanent workers, since August 15th, 2013, just like their colleagues in the company.
