The Tunisian General Secretary of Labor, “Noureddine Tabboubi” announced that the national administrative body of the union will hold a meeting next Tuesday and it is expected to issue the decision of general strikes in the public companies.
“Tabboubi” said during a seminar on the reformation of the public companies and the ways of rescuing them from privatization, that most of the trade union structures supported this decision and they will submit their recommendations to the national administrative body, recalling the decision of the public sector regarding the general strike.
The general secretary stressed that the trade unionists are preparing to enter into peaceful movements to protest against the government's procrastination regarding the collective negotiations related to the increase in wages of public workers and the targeting of the public sector, in light of the deteriorating social situation. Moreover, he was skeptic about the official figures regarding the improvement of the situation and stressed that the government does not have any reform project.
