Yesterday, two parents' committees in “Al-Nasira” and “Yaffa” announced two strikes, one is a full strike in “Al-Nasira” for all schools and the other is a partial strike for the high schools in “Yaffa”.
The “Arab 48” news website said that the strike in “Al-Nasira” would include all elementary, preparatory, secondary, orchard schools and kindergartens for only one day. The committee attributed this to the "lack of security and safety in schools, as well as, the unilateral decisions in “Al-Nasira” municipality’s knowledge department, in addition to the lack of teachers for about 150 students. "
The teachers stressed that "there are deficiencies and requirements for schools to begin the next school year. Moreover, the law is not effectively implemented in all schools and regarding the education stages, in terms of areas of influence and the registration of students, some students are forced to study at a certain school, while others have the right to choose”.
Meanwhile, the “Yaffa” municipal parents 'committee announced on Friday an open-ended strike in the high school to protest against the return of the principal to her former position in school, after a year working in another job outside the city of “Yaffa”. The parents' committee said that “this caused tension with the beginning of the new school year about the difficulties faced by the school and the deterioration of marks during her previous period of work.”
