For the first time, the Moroccan women will be able to access the profession of "Al-Adoul" after having been monopolized only by men, along with many other professions. In fact, 299 women succeed in the “Adoul” entrance exam of 2018 with 37.38%, compared to 501 male competitors.
The decision taken about the women’s access "Al-Adoul" profession pleased many human rights activists, who have already called for the implementation of Chapter 19 of the Constitution; which enshrines the equal enjoyment of the civil, political, economic, social, cultural and environmental rights and freedoms included in the provisions of the constitution and the international conventions and charters ratified by Morocco, as well as the Moroccan State’s pursuit to fulfill the gender equality.
The "Hespress” website revealed that the “Adouls” will be under a training period, as stipulated in Article 7 of Law No. 16.03, in the Higher Institute of Justice and in coordination with the Directorate of Civil Affairs, according to Article 9 of the law.
This training includes practical exercises at the Higher Institute of Justice for six months, including the legal requirements of the “Adoul” plan and how to receive and edit various certificates and procedures related to the registration management, tax administration, real estate preservation, reconstruction and agricultural land, with field visits to the concerned institutions.
The trainees will also receive two months of training at the family justice department, under the supervision of the judge in charge of the same department, in a notary office, determined by the judge in charge of documentation, at the suggestion of the head of the regional council or his representative, for a period of four months.
